This 3-pattern PACK includes the patterns for a huge manta ray (4 feet wide*), a mega stingray (measures 2 feet wide) and a mini stingray (7 inches wide). The mini ray fits inside the mega ray which fits inside the manta ray for a fun interactive set! All 3 individual patterns will be available for download after your purchase. Find the information for each individual ray pattern below.
*All measurements are when making the patterns with #7 jumbo weight yarn, as shown in the main listing photo.
The following crochet stitches are used in these patterns: chain, single crochet, increase stitch, and slip stitch.
Materials you will need:
• Crochet hook size: 8 mm (US L)
• #7 jumbo weight yarn*: blue (320 yards/293 m) and white (275 yards/251 m)
• Yarn needle (for weaving in yarn tails)
• Scissors
• 35 mm safety eyes
• Poly fiberfill stuffing – optional, only used if choosing to close and stuff your ray
*I used Sweet Snuggles Yarn – 3 skeins of Denim and 2.5 skeins of white. This pattern can be made as written with any yarn weight.
Materials needed for the mega ray:
• Crochet hook size: 8mm
• #7 jumbo weight yarn*: blue (99 yards needed) and white (85 yards needed for non-pocket version; 125 yards needed for ray with pocket), plus 1 yard of light pink for the cheeks
• #4 medium weight yarn: 1 yard of black for the smile (only used for the non-pocket ray)
• Yarn needle
• One pair of 18-25mm safety eyes
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
*I used Sweet Snuggles yarn from Michaels for the teal mega ray without a pocket and Honey Bunny Big yarn from Hobbii for the ray with pocket version. You will only need 1 skein of the main color + 1 skein of white.
Final measurement for the finished mega ray made with #7 jumbo weight yarn is 24 inches (61 cm) wide and 21 inches (54 cm) long. If you use #6 super bulky weight yarn, the finished ray will be 14 inches (36 cm) wide and 10 inches long (25 cm).
Materials needed for the mini ray:
• Crochet hook size: 5 mm
• #6 super bulky weight yarn*: blue or gray (20 yards needed) and white (15 yards needed)
• 1 strand of black embroidery floss for the eyebrows and mouth
• Yarn needle
• 12mm black safety eyes
• Polyester fiber fill stuffing
*In this pattern, I use #6 super bulky weight yarn. The mini ray shown in the main listing is made with #7 jumbo weight yarn. You can follow the pattern as written using your yarn weight of choice. Final measurement for the finished plush ray with #6 super bulky weight yarn is 5 inches (12.5 cm) wide and 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) long.
